Large-Scale and High-Speed FPGA-Based Privacy Amplification for Quantum Key Distribution

Bing-Ze Yan et al.

Summary: In this paper, a high-performance FPGA-based privacy amplification scheme is proposed for both continuous variable and discrete variable quantum key distribution (QKD), achieving over 1.5 Gbps throughput and a block size close to $10^8$. The scheme outperforms existing FPGA-based PA schemes by more than one order of magnitude in terms of throughput and input block size. The design incorporates a novel FPGA-based hybrid hash PA algorithm using number theoretical transform (NTT), along with several optimization strategies.

Machine learning aided carrier recovery in continuous-variable quantum key distribution

Hou-Man Chin et al.

Summary: The implementation of a machine learning framework, specifically an unscented Kalman filter (UKF), for phase noise estimation in CV-QKD systems can effectively control excess noise. Experimental results show that the UKF can ensure very low excess noise even at low pilot powers, with low variance and high stability across a wide range of pilot signal to noise ratios. This may lead to CV-QKD systems with low hardware complexity and versatility for different transmission lines.

High Rate CV-QKD Secured Mobile WDM Fronthaul for Dense 5G Radio Networks

Dinka Milovancev et al.

Summary: A coherent transmission methodology for continuous-variable quantum key distribution system has been experimentally demonstrated in the framework of 5G mobile fronthaul links. Techniques such as optical carrier synchronization, frequency offset correction, and optical phase estimation guarantee high signal-to-noise ratio for training signal and low-noise quantum signal reception. Coexistence with classical signals and joint transmission in the C-band have been successfully achieved. Secure-key rates under strict security assumptions have been obtained, well addressing the requirements for time-shared CV-QKD system in densified 5G radio access networks with cloud-based processing.
