Long-lasting antifogging mechanism for large-aperture optical surface in low-pressure air plasma in-situ treated

Yuhai Li et al.

Summary: In this article, long-lasting antifogging capability of large-aperture optical components was achieved through in-situ plasma treatment. Experimental results showed that the surface of the optical components treated by plasma had a good antifogging effect, which can be maintained for 300 min. The plasma treatment significantly improved the surface wettability of optical components and enhanced their optical performance without damaging the surface structure.

Low-Temperature Barrier Discharge Plasma Modification of Scaffolds Based on Polylactic Acid

Olesya A. Laput et al.

Summary: In this study, the effect of low-temperature barrier discharge plasma treatment on the modification of polylactic acid (PLA)-based scaffolds was explored. The immune response of macrophages to the modified PLA surface was also investigated. Results showed that argon plasma treatment can improve the wettability characteristics of PLA and increase the surface energy, but it has a certain effect on cell viability. Furthermore, the presence of PLA scaffolds does not cause excessive expression of proinflammatory cytokines.

Basement membrane proteins modulate cell migration on bovine pericardium extracellular matrix scaffold

Qi Xing et al.

Summary: The study found that human mesenchymal stem cells migrated faster on the serous surface than on the fibrous surface, potentially due to increased expression of integrin alpha (3) and alpha (11). Blockade of integrin alpha (3)beta (1) inhibited early hMSC migration on the serous side, while blockade of alpha (11)beta (1) inhibited later hMSC migration.
