The katydid country: bioacoustics and ecology of tettigoniid communities from the Indian subcontinent

Chandranshu Tiwari et al.

Summary: This study provides the first description of acoustic communities from subtropical rainforests in Northeast India and unexplored sites in the Western Ghats. The researchers examined the call structures of 15 katydid species and discovered that most of them produced ultrasonic broadband calls. They also observed the variations in habitat and seasonality of the communities at both sites. The study found diverse acoustic communities with different species compositions among the habitats and seasonal variations.
