On the effect of spatial fractional heat conduction in MHD boundary layer flow using Gr-Fe3O4-H2O hybrid nanofluid

Mehdi Khazayinejad et al.

Summary: This article investigates the magnetohydrodynamic boundary layer flow and spatial fractional heat transport of Gr-Fe3O4-H2O hybrid nanofluid on a moving flat plate. By changing the order of fractional derivatives, it is found that the temperature increases, and in certain cases, the Nusselt number grows significantly. The results are validated by comparing with existing experimental and numerical studies, confirming the effectiveness of the optimal collocation method in predicting spatial-fractional MHD boundary layer flow.

Computational Analysis of Heat Transfer Intensification of Fractional Viscoelastic Hybrid Nanofluids

Mumtaz Khan et al.

Summary: In this article, computational analysis on convection heat transfer of a hybrid nanofluid involving porous media and magnetic force was performed. A complex fractional derivative model and nonuniform boundary conditions were considered, with linearization of coupled momentum and energy equations, and implementation in MATLAB. The results showed that the fluid motion in both hybrid and single nanofluids slows down due to the influence of magnetic field, porosity, and inertia coefficient. The proposed numerical technique for heat transfer application to hybrid nanofluid over a semi-infinite nonuniform permeable surface is believed to be a valuable addition to the field of engineering.

Unsteady MHD natural convection flow of Casson fluid incorporating thermal radiative flux and heat injection/suction mechanism under variable wall conditions

Summary: The study investigates the unsteady magnetohydrodynamic flow of Casson fluid over an infinite vertical plate under ramped temperature and velocity conditions. By introducing dimensionless variables and using Laplace transform for evaluation, the effects of various physical parameters are elucidated through graphical and tabular illustrations. Results show that solutions computed under constant conditions are superior to those under ramped conditions, the magnetic field decelerates the flow, radiative flux leads to an upsurge in the flow, and shear stress is a decreasing function of the magnetic parameter.

Summary: This article proposes a high-order numerical method for a space distributed-order time-fractional diffusion equation, which transforms the space distributed-order term into multi-term fractional derivatives using the mid-point quadrature rule, discretizes the multi-term fractional equation by the finite volume method based on piecewise-quadratic polynomials, and uses the finite difference method for the time-fractional derivative. The iterative scheme is proven to be unconditionally stable and convergent with a certain accuracy level, as demonstrated by a numerical example.

Summary: Analysis on natural convective heat transfer in different engineering systems allows optimization of technical apparatus through numerical simulations and study of entropy generation. This research focuses on mathematical modeling of thermal convection and entropy generation in a right-angled trapezoidal cavity with sinusoidal vertical wall temperature distribution, finding that an increase in sinusoidal wall temperature amplitude results in higher average Nusselt and Bejan numbers and average entropy generation, while growth in non-uniform wall temperature wave number decreases energy transport strength and Bejan number.
