Study on the phenomenon of rail corrugation on high-speed rail based on the friction-induced vibration and feedback vibration

Xiaolu Cui et al.

Summary: Rail corrugation is a common phenomenon in high-speed rail, and its spatial distribution has been observed. By building simulation models and studying wear models, it has been found that friction-induced vibration and feedback vibration of wheelset-track are the main causes of rail corrugation.

Numerical investigation of the fatigue performance of elastic rail clips considering rail corrugation and dynamic axle load

Ping Wang et al.

Summary: The characteristics of rail corrugation were measured using a rail corrugation meter to analyze its effects on the vibration and stress of the fastener system. It was found that rail corrugation can lead to excessive vibration acceleration of the rail clip, ultimately resulting in fracture.

Study on Wheel Polygonal Wear of Metro Trains Caused by Frictional Self-Excited Oscillation

X. Kang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the special phenomenon of higher wheel polygonal wear rate on the right wheel compared to the left wheel on subway trains. It found that the length difference between the right and left curved tracks is the main reason for the different polygonal wear rates between the right and left wheels.
