Utilization of crude paper industry effluent for Polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) production

Priyam Tyagi et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that untreated paper industry effluent can be utilized as a substrate for Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) production, utilizing unused carbon and developing a feasible production process. By screening indigenous PHA-producing bacterial strains, it was found that ART_41 was able to grow using different concentrations of effluent, leading to optimal PHA production after identification and analysis.
