Investigation of Mn doped perovskite La-Mn oxides for NH3-SCR activity and SO2/H2O resistance

Aidong Fan et al.

Summary: A series of Mn-doped perovskite La-Mn oxides were prepared and evaluated for NH3-SCR activity, showing excellent performance in low-temperature SCR and resistance to SO2 and H2O. Mn doping altered the redox properties of La-Mn oxides, but the presence of SO2 and H2O weakened the redox properties and acidity of the catalyst. Mn doping enhanced NH3 adsorption and accelerated the decomposition of ammonium sulfate, improving SO2 resistance.

Qiuju Qin et al.

Summary: NOx is a major source of air pollution, and reducing its emissions has received increasing attention. NH3-SCR technology is widely used for controlling NOx emissions. This study synthesized SmxMnTiSnOy catalysts and tested their performance, finding that Sm0.2MnTiSnOy showed better low-temperature NH3-SCR performance and durability. Additionally, appropriate Sm doping increased the catalyst's surface area and acidity.

Modified hierarchical zeolite X derived from riceberry rice husk for propionic acid adsorption

Nareerat Na Chat et al.

Summary: Recently, Riceberry rice has gained attention in Thailand due to its high nutritional value. In this study, silica was successfully extracted from Riceberry rice husk through hydrothermal synthesis for the synthesis of zeolite X. Hierarchical zeolite was prepared through acid modification and recrystallization. The extracted silica had high purity, and the acid-modified 0.5HCl-X showed a high surface area and monodisperse pore size distribution. The synthesized materials were used as adsorbents for propionic acid, and the adsorption capacity of 0.5HCl-X reached a maximum of 516 mg g(-1) at an equilibrium time of 30 minutes, following a pseudo-second order kinetic model.

Yuhan Zhou et al.

Summary: This study found that doping Nb2O5 can enhance the SCR performance and sulfur resistance of Zn-Mn-Ce/AC catalyst, form new acidic sites by preferentially reacting with SO2, promote NH3 adsorption and inhibit SO2 adsorption, which hinders the reaction between NH3 and SO2 and slows the formation of ammonium sulfate channels on the catalyst.
