Predicting colostrum and calf blood components based on refractometry

Summary: The study found strong correlations between colostrum components, enabling accurate prediction of colostrum components and optimizing colostrum volume for neonate calves based on Brix values to prevent failure of passive immunity transfer. Additionally, lower correlations were observed between colostrum components in calf blood, but serum protein refractometer measurements accurately predicted serum IgG levels.
