Bandgap modulation of ZnO/ZnS heterostructures through ion exchange and their efficient transport properties

Summary: ZnO/ZnS heterojunction structures were grown through hydrothermal and anion exchanged method, with the composition content and band gap controlled by adjusting the sulfurization time. The formation of ZnS-coated ZnO NRs resulted in improved interface charge transport capability and reduction of the ZnO/ZnS band gap. Different sulfurization treatments of ZnO/ZnS showed better hydrogen production performance compared to pure ZnO.
