Mechanistic pathways of change in twice weekly versus once weekly sessions of psychotherapy for depression

Sanne J. E. Bruijniks et al.

Summary: This study found that a twice weekly session frequency is more effective in reducing depression compared to a once-weekly session frequency, and this may be explained by the development of IPT skills. A decrease in depression was related to subsequent improvement in CBT skills and subsequent decrease in motivation for therapy.

Design of an RCT on cost-effectiveness of group schema therapy versus individual schema therapy for patients with Cluster-C personality disorder: the QUEST-CLC study protocol

Iuno Z. Groot et al.

Summary: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Group Schema Therapy (GST) for Cluster-C Personality Disorders (PDs) and improve treatment allocation for individual patients. The study will compare the cost-effectiveness of GST, Individual Schema Therapy (IST), and Treatment as Usual (TAU), and investigate patient characteristics that predict better response to different treatment methods. Additionally, a tool supporting patients and clinicians will be developed, and economic and process evaluations will be conducted.

Individual Differences in Response to Once Versus Twice Weekly Sessions of CBT and IPT for Depression

Sanne J. E. Bruijniks et al.

Summary: The Personalized Advantage Index (PAI) is a method to guide treatment selection by investigating which of two or more treatments is optimal for a given individual. This study applied the PAI method to assess if subgroups of patients may have a differential response to psychotherapy frequency. The results suggest that different session frequencies might be beneficial for different patients with depression.
