Genetic divergence and local adaptation of Liriodendron driven by heterogeneous environments

Yufang Shen et al.

Summary: Ecological adaptive differentiation affects species diversity and genetic diversity in forests, with significant niche divergence between L. chinense and L. tulipifera detected. Environmental variables are associated with genetic variation, and 28 adaptive loci provide evidence for local adaptation in Liriodendron. The study highlights the role of heterogeneous environments in shaping genetic structure and driving local adaptation, informing conservation efforts for L. chinense in the future.

Genome-wide survey and identification of AP2/ERF genes involved in shoot and leaf development in Liriodendron chinense

Yaxian Zong et al.

Summary: 104 putative AP2/ERF genes were identified in Liriodendron chinense genome, grouped into four subfamilies. Three tissue-specific AP2 genes were identified as involved in early leaf development and morphogenesis, with confirmed nuclear subcellular localizations. These findings shed light on the genetic basis of leaf morphogenesis in L. chinense.

Genome-Wide Identification and Expression Analysis of R2R3-MYB Family Genes Associated with Petal Pigment Synthesis in Liriodendron

Lichun Yang et al.

Summary: The MYB transcription factor family, particularly R2R3-MYB genes, play a crucial role in pigment synthesis that determines petal colors in Liriodendron plants. Genome-wide identification and analysis revealed the presence of 204 LcMYB superfamily genes in Liriodendron chinense, with 85 R2R3-MYB genes distributed across 19 chromosomes. The expression profiles of four R2R3-MYB genes at a specific stage suggest their potential involvement in carotenoid synthesis in Liriodendron tulipifera petals.
