Effects of increasing intake of soybean oil on synthesis of testosterone in Leydig cells

Yu Su et al.

Summary: Increasing intake of soybean oil can raise serum levels of linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid, while decreasing levels of palmitic acid. This can activate the LH/LHCGR pathway and improve the function of steroid synthesis in Leydig cells, leading to elevated testosterone levels.

L-carnitine extenuates endocrine disruption, inflammatory burst and oxidative stress in carbendazim-challenged male rats via upregulation of testicular StAR and FABP9, and downregulation of P38-MAPK pathways

Maha A. Salem et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigated the potential of L-carnitine (LC) to mitigate the reproductive toxic effects of carbendazim (CBZ) in male rats, and explored the molecular mechanisms involved in modifying spermatogenic and steroidogenic disruptions caused by the endocrine disruptor. LC supplementation improved sperm quality, testicular histological alterations, endocrine disturbances, and modulation of gene expressions and proteins, primarily through its endocrine-preserving, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

TCF21+ mesenchymal cells contribute to testis somatic cell development, homeostasis, and regeneration in mice

Yu-chi Shen et al.

Summary: Researchers have identified a population of testis interstitial cells expressing the transcription factor Tcf21, which help maintain adult testis homeostasis and potentially act as reserve somatic progenitors following aging and injury. These cells exhibit multipotent mesenchymal progenitor characteristics and can differentiate into various somatic cell types.
