Cave-dwellers Diploexochus (Isopoda, Armadillidae): new species and new records of the genus from Brazil

Giovanna Monticelli Cardoso et al.

Summary: Two new species of Diploexochus were discovered in caves in northeastern Brazil, specifically in the state of Bahia. These species are likely to inhabit caves due to the impact of human activities and the favorable microclimatic conditions found underground. This study also presents the first record of D. echinatus in a cave in northern Brazil.
