Simultaneous determination of Fe and Zn in dried blood spot by HR-CS GF AAS using solid sampling

Summary: Dried Blood Spot (DBS) was evaluated as a solid sampling strategy for Fe and Zn determination in blood samples using Solid Sampling High-Resolution Continuum Source Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (SS HR-CS GF AAS). Results showed good correlation between the area of DBS and blood volume, as well as improved stability and peak profile of Zn with the use of chemical modifier. The proposed method provided accurate Fe and Zn determination results with a high sample throughput.
