The SET HASDM Density Database

W. Kent Tobiska et al.

Summary: The SET HASDM density database is accessible for scientific studies via a SQL database with open community access. It covers the period from January 1, 2000 through December 31, 2019 with data records every 3 hours during solar cycles 23 and 24. The database has a grid size of 10 degrees x 15 degrees with altitude steps of 25 km between 175 and 825 km.

Qualitative and Quantitative Assessment of the SET HASDM Database

Richard J. Licata et al.

Summary: HASDM is the thermospheric density model used by the US Space Force, providing more accurate density estimates through real-time data assimilation. Comparing with JB2008 model and using principal component analysis, we show the increased variability of the HASDM dataset and highlight its ability to capture the movement of lighter species under solar minimum conditions.
