Simple preparation of highly efficient MAxFA1-xPbI3 perovskite films from an aqueous halide-free lead precursor by all dip-coating approach and application in high-performance perovskite solar cells

Zobia Irshad et al.

Summary: Sequential-dip-coating deposition of mixed organic cationic MA(x)FA(1-x)PbI(3) perovskite films from an aqueous non-halide lead precursor solution was effectively developed. Efficient crystal phase and surface morphologies of the perovskite films were achieved by varying the MAI/FAI molar ratios in the precursor solution. The all-dip-coating-treated perovskite layers showed no presence of delta-FAPbI(3) perovskites, even with low MAI insertion into the FAI solution. The perovskite solar cell devices with the all-dip-coating processed MA(0.5)FA(0.5)PbI(3) perovskite layers exhibited efficient device performance and improved stability.

Synergistic engineering of end-capped acceptor and bridge on arylborane-arylamine macrocycles to boost the photovoltaic properties of organic solar cells

Alvina Rasool et al.

Summary: By substituting the terminal groups of reference B4N2-(F)Mes with thiophene, a new stream of donor-pi-acceptor arylborane-arylamine type donor contributors (BN1-BN5) has been developed. Computational characterization and cross-check with reference (BNR) showed that the newly planned molecules, especially BN4 and BN1, exhibit promising optoelectronic properties. The approach of thiophene bridged end-capped acceptor alteration has shown potential in providing materials for organic solar cells.

Ab Initio Study of Two-Dimensional Cross-Shaped Non-Fullerene Acceptors for Efficient Organic Solar Cells

Saim Riaz et al.

Summary: In this study, five novel non-fullerene acceptor molecules were designed to explore the significance of organic solar cells (OSCs). The electro-optical properties of these molecules were investigated, and it was found that M1 exhibited the maximum absorption wavelength and the lowest energy band gap. The designed molecules also showed enhanced electron mobility and potential for easy dissociation of the exciton. Overall, these newly designed non-fullerene acceptor molecules provide valuable insights for further development in the performance of OSCs.

Arooza Rafique et al.

Summary: Non-fullerene acceptors play a crucial role in the development of organic solar cells. To overcome the limited optical characteristics of most NFAs, researchers have designed nine different C-shaped cyclopentadithiophene-based acceptor-donor-acceptor structured NFAs. Through advanced quantum mechanical density functional theory and time dependent approaches, they have explored the potential of these materials and found that they have the ability to efficiently tune optical and electrical parameters.
