Unequal impact of the COVID-19 crisis on minority ethnic groups: a framework for understanding and addressing inequalities

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately affected minority ethnic groups, with inequalities arising through six pathways: differential exposure to the virus, vulnerability to infection/disease, health consequences, social consequences, effectiveness of control measures, and adverse consequences of control measures. Current research only partially understands these pathways, highlighting the need for further investigation into the complex interplay of social and biological factors in ethnic inequalities.

Evidence for interventions to promote mental health and reduce stigma in Black faith communities: systematic review

Effective implementation was influenced by multiple factors, with co-production and partnership working identified as key to ensuring an acceptable and accessible intervention. However, evidence for the effectiveness of interventions focused on mental health awareness and stigma reduction in the Black faith community is limited due to the low quality of existing studies.

Systemic racism: individuals and interactions, institutions and society

It points out how racially segregated housing contributes to disparities in opportunities, networks, education, wealth, health, and legal treatment for Black Americans. Ultimately, the systemic bias and racialized interactions perpetuate systemic racism.
