Charge Transfer Properties of Heterostructures Formed by Bi2O2Se and Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Monolayers

Shuangyan Liu et al.

Summary: Research on the interlayer charge transfer properties of heterostructures formed by Bi2O2Se and WS2/MoS2 showed photoluminescence quenching and ultrafast charge transfer processes. These results demonstrate the feasibility of integrating 2D Bi2O2Se with other 2D semiconductors to fabricate heterostructures with novel charge transfer properties.

Synthesis of a Selectively Nb-Doped WS2-MoS2 Lateral Heterostructure for a High-Detectivity PN Photodiode

Van Tu Vu et al.

Summary: In this study, selective doping of Nb in a WS2-MoS2 lateral heterostructure was proposed, resulting in a transformation of the electrical behavior from N-N junction to P-N junction and P-N tunnel junction. By optimizing the structure, a photodiode with high rectification ratio and detectivity was achieved.

Strain-Modulated Interlayer Charge and Energy Transfers in MoS2/ WS2 Heterobilayer

Joon-Seok Kim et al.

Summary: This study reports a novel method to modulate charge transfer and excitonic energy transfer in MoS2/WS2 heterobilayers by applying compressive strain. Raman and photoluminescence measurements, combined with theoretical calculations, show that pressure enhances the interlayer interaction of the heterobilayer. The findings suggest that pressure can effectively control the transfer processes in 2D excitonic devices.

Summary: 2D heterostructures, such as the MoS2/Te heterojunction studied here, show promise for high-performance photovoltaic devices by enabling effective charge transfer and lower exciton binding energy compared to monolayer materials. This strategy offers new possibilities for developing next-generation intrinsically ultrathin light-harvesting devices.

Electrostatic Modulation and Mechanism of the Electronic Properties of Monolayer MoS2 via Ferroelectric BiAlO3(0001) Polar Surfaces

Jin Yuan et al.

Summary: This study utilized first-principles density functional theory calculations to investigate the intrinsic interface coupling and electrostatic modulation in the MoS2/BAO(0001) hybrid system. The results showed that the electronic properties of monolayer MoS2 on the BAO(0001) polar surface can be effectively modulated by reversing the ferroelectric polarization and/or engineering the domain structures of the substrate. The physical mechanism determining the interfacial charge transfer in the MoS2/BAO(0001) hybrid system is attributed to the specific band alignment between the clean BAO(0001) surface and the freestanding monolayer MoS2.
