Summary: Researchers have successfully regulated the performance of single atom tailored nano-catalysts through a single atom-cavity coupling strategy. They deposited Ru single atoms on the surface concavities of PtNi nanoparticles, resulting in the formation of Ru-ca-PtNi catalysts. The Ru-ca-PtNi catalyst exhibited high activity and excellent durability in methanol oxidation reaction. Furthermore, the coupling of Ru single atoms with cavities accelerated the CO removal and the high diffusion barrier of Ru single atoms in concavities contributed to the catalyst's stability.
