Detection behavior of phenolic compounds in a dual-electrode system assembled from track-etched membrane electrodes

Tomohiko Kuwabara et al.

Summary: This study investigated the electrochemical detection behavior of phenolic compounds in a dual-electrode detector constructed from track-etched membrane electrodes (TEMEs) using microbore high-performance liquid chromatography. The detector featured complete electrolysis provided by the electrode structure and showed a wide range of collection efficiencies due to the reversibility of electrochemical reactions and the stability of reaction products. The results provided valuable information for peak identification and estimation of peak purities in complex chromatograms.

Holey nitrogen-doped graphene aerogel for simultaneously electrochemical determination of ascorbic acid, dopamine and uric acid

Sinuo Feng et al.

Summary: In this study, a holey nitrogen-doped graphene aerogel (HNGA) was synthesized and used for the concurrent electrochemical determination of small biological molecules. The HNGA-modified glassy carbon electrode showed significantly enhanced electrochemical response to ascorbic acid (AA), dopamine (DA), and uric acid (UA), with high sensitivity and desirable detection limits.

Molecular Imprinting Technology for Determination of Uric Acid

Vilma Ratautaite et al.

Summary: This review provides an overview of electrochemical sensors based on molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) for the determination of uric acid, emphasizing the importance of robust and precise detection methods. It discusses the principles of molecular imprinting technology, advantages over other affinity-based analytical methods, and the application of various electro-analytical methods. The review also highlights the types of polymers used, electrode systems applied, extraction procedures employed, and analytical characteristics evaluated in research employing MIPs imprinted with uric acid.

Review-Trends on the Development of Non-Enzymatic Electrochemical Sensors Modified with Metal-Oxide Nanostructures for the Quantification of Uric Acid

D. Hernandez-Ramirez et al.

Summary: This review discusses the development of non-enzymatic electrochemical studies based on nano-structures of non-noble metal oxides for uric acid detection over the past decade. The proposed electrochemical sensors show promising applications for determining uric acid in blood, urine, pharmaceuticals, water, and commercial shellfish. The results reported are very encouraging, with the electrodes modified with nano-structures of metal oxides showing great potential in electrochemically oxidizing uric acid.
