Enzyme-free colorimetric determination of uric acid based on inhibition of gold nanorods etching

Xiu Qin et al.

Summary: An enzyme-free colorimetric method for sensitive detection of uric acid was established by inhibiting the etching of gold nanorods. The method achieved detection through UV-vis absorption spectra and visual observation, with a detection limit of 0.76 μM in low concentration range. This method has been successfully applied for determining uric acid in clinical samples.

Gold nanorods etching as a powerful signaling process for plasmonic multicolorimetric chemo-/biosensors: Strategies and applications

Kimia Kermanshahian et al.

Summary: Localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) is an optical phenomenon generated by conductive nanoparticles, applied as a label-free sensing technique with superior sensitivity based on the nanoparticle size, shape, and structure; Gold nanorods (AuNRs) etched into small nanoparticles serve as a powerful tool for fabricating various chemo-/bio-sensors, exhibiting unique optical properties resulting from LSPR excitation across visible to near-infrared range.

Colorimetric detection of hypoxanthine in aquatic products based on the enzyme mimic of cobalt-doped carbon nitride

Xin Wang et al.

Summary: A colorimetric method based on the peroxidase-like activity of cobalt-doped graphite phase carbon nitride (Co-doped-g-C3N4) was established for the rapid detection of hypoxanthine (Hx) in aquatic products. The method allows for direct measurement of Hx content with sensitivity, accuracy, and reliability, making it suitable for early determination of freshness in aquatic products.
