Using Eye-tracking To Investigate The Effect of Gaze Co-occurrence and Distribution on Collaborative Performance

Rakesh Veerabhadrappa et al.

Summary: There is mixed opinion on the relationship between gaze behaviors and task performance in collaborative problem-solving tasks. This study investigates the collective effects of gaze co-occurring and distribution on performance in group problem-solving, specifically in a 3-member cooperative task resembling a computer-supported collaborative working environment. The results demonstrate a significant relationship between gaze behaviors, a composite index combining measures from both gaze co-occurring and distribution, and performance.

Gaze Convergence Based Collaborative Performance Prediction in a 3-Member Joint Activity Setting

Rakesh Veerabhadrappa et al.

Summary: Teams engaged in desktop-based collaborative problem solving have been increasing, but the practical application of members' gaze behavior in larger groups and intelligent predictive modeling has shown slow progress. This study aims to advance gaze-based collaborative research by overcoming some of the drawbacks. The results suggest that team members' gaze behavior can be used for objective assessment and prediction of collaborative performance.

Team Physiological Dynamics: A Critical Review

Sadaf Kazi et al.

Summary: This article reviewed the use of physiological measurement in team settings, finding that researchers mainly focus on single physiological systems and have not fully explored the relationship between team physiological dynamics and team processes. It recommends further development of the team physiological dynamics research field to achieve the application of physiological measurement as a reliable indicator of team functioning.

Group-level physiological synchrony and individual-level anxiety predict positive affective behaviors during a group decision-making task

Ilanit Gordon et al.

Summary: Joint performance can lead to synchronized physiological processes among group members during a shared task, which significantly impacts positive affective behavior at the group level. Specifically, heart rate and electrodermal synchronization showed opposite effects on group members' display of affective behavior. Trait anxiety may moderate the relationship between physiological synchrony and affective behavior, while social phobia did not have a moderating effect.

Using Recurrence Quantification Analysis to Quantify the Physiological Synchrony in Dyadic ECG Data

Rakesh Veerabhadrappa et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the team setting using Recurrent Quantification Analysis (RQA) based on heart rate variability (HRV) data derived from electrocardiogram (ECG) recordings, exploring the physiological interconnection between team members. It found that RQA measures can be effective alternative options in assessing socio-physiological compliance (SPC) in team settings.
