A Novel Wearable Flexible Dry Electrode Based on Cowhide for ECG Measurement

Yiping Huang et al.

Summary: Wearable flexible silver electrodes based on cowhide were prepared and tested for their waveform transmission and impedance. The results showed that these electrodes were comparable to standard gel electrodes when the skin is moist enough, and had higher signal-to-noise ratios than the standard electrodes in the standing posture.

Evaluation of dry textile electrodes for long-term electrocardiographic monitoring

Milad Alizadeh-Meghrazi et al.

Summary: A standard testing procedure and framework for skin-electrode impedance measurement is demonstrated for the development of novel dry textile electrodes. Dry textile electrodes demonstrated similar impedance when in raised or flat structures, with insignificant impact from tested pressure variations. Impedance alone may not be the primary indicator of signal quality, suggesting the need for additional evaluation methods for dry electrode design and testing for practical ECG monitoring applications.
