Genome-Wide Identification and Expression Profiling of the PDI Gene Family Reveals Their Probable Involvement in Abiotic Stress Tolerance in Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.)

Antt Htet Wai et al.

Summary: Protein disulfide isomerases (PDI) and PDI-like proteins play a crucial role in catalyzing protein disulfide bond formation and isomerization in the endoplasmic reticulum, preventing the accumulation of misfolded proteins under abiotic stress conditions. In tomato, 19 PDI genes were identified, with most showing differential expression across organs and developmental stages, and being highly induced by heat, salt, and ABA treatments. The predominant expression of specific PDI genes in response to abiotic stress and ABA treatment suggests their regulatory roles in abiotic stress tolerance in a tomato.

Whole-genome characterization of Rosa chinensis AP2/ERF transcription factors and analysis of negative regulator RcDREB2B in Arabidopsis

Wei Li et al.

Summary: This study identified 135 AP2/ERF transcription factors in roses and explored their gene structure, phylogeny, and distribution. A novel DREB A2 subgroup gene, RcDREB2B, was isolated and characterized. Overexpression of RcDREB2B in roses led to altered sensitivity to salt, ABA, and PEG, affecting the expression of 12 osmotic and ABA-related genes.
