Ternary Transition Metal Dichalcogenides for High Power Vector Dissipative Soliton Ultrafast Fiber Laser

Summary: The study focuses on the application of NbxRe(1-x)S2 nanosheets in ultrafast photonics. By incorporating the NbxRe(1-x)S2-microfiber saturable absorber into a net positive dispersion Er-doped fiber laser cavity, stable dissipative soliton pulses were generated. The NbxRe(1-x)S2-based mode-locked fiber laser demonstrated superior comprehensive performance compared to previous works based on 2D materials-based saturable absorbers.

Tantalum disulfide nanosheets for the generation of polarization domain wall solitons and polarization locked vector solitons

Summary: Tantalum disulfide (TaS2) is a promising material for catalysis and optical switch due to its tunable band gap and strong photoluminescence. In this study, we prepared a TaS2-based saturable absorber that exhibits strong saturable absorption characteristics and successfully realized polarization domain wall solitons and polarization locked vector solitons. Our findings provide valuable insights for the development of ultrafast photonic devices based on TaS2.

Nonlinear photoresponse of high damage threshold titanium disulfide nanocrystals for Q-switched pulse generation

Summary: A passively Q-switched Er-doped fiber laser with two wavelengths was designed using a titanium disulfide saturable absorber. The ultra-fast modulator was fabricated using TiS2 and transferred onto a fiber ferrule. The experimental results showed that the laser had a long pulse duration, high output power, and adjustable repetition rate. The study suggested that TiS2 nanocrystals with high damage threshold had great potential for application in pulse fiber lasers.
