Complications after proximal abducting ulnar osteotomy and prognostic factors in 66 dogs

Mechanical load regulates bone growth via periosteal Osteocrin

Haruko Watanabe-Takano et al.

Summary: This study identified OSTN as a mechanotransducer for load-induced long bone growth, enhancing CNP-dependent proliferation and maturation of chondrocytes. OSTN cooperates with CNP to regulate bone formation, preventing NPR3-mediated clearance of CNP and facilitating CNP-signal-mediated bone growth.
