Public Health Nurse-delivered Group Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Postpartum Depression: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Ryan J. Van Lieshout et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effectiveness of group cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for postpartum depression (PPD) delivered by public health nurses with little to no previous psychiatric training. The findings showed significant improvements in PPD symptoms, the mother-infant relationship, and social support among mothers who received group CBT. Therefore, task shifting PPD treatment to public health nurses could lead to better outcomes for mothers and families.

Jessica L. Schleider et al.

Summary: This study tested the effects of online single-session interventions on adolescents with depression symptoms during COVID-19, finding that both active SSIs were effective in reducing depressive symptoms, decreasing hopelessness, increasing agency, and reducing restrictive eating. These results suggest that free online interventions are useful for high-symptom adolescents, even in the high-stress context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
