Summary: Observational studies showed no association between e-cigarette use and smoking cessation in adult smokers. However, daily e-cigarette use was related to more quitting while less-than-daily use was related to less quitting. Randomized clinical trials indicated that providing e-cigarettes was associated with increased smoking cessation compared to conventional therapy.
