Sensitive immunosensing of α-synuclein protein in human plasma samples using gold nanoparticles conjugated with graphene: an innovative immuno-platform towards early stage identification of Parkinson's disease using point of care (POC) analysis

Summary: The study shows that the imidazolium ionic liquid functionalized LDH significantly enhances the curing reaction of epoxy nanocomposites compared to traditional LDH. By calculating the orders of different curing reactions and optimizing kinetic parameters, the experimental results are in good agreement with the expected reaction rates. The strong interfacial adhesion between LDH-IM and epoxy resin approves its potential application in highly curable epoxy materials with high thermal and mechanical properties.

Catalytic dehydration of fructose into 5-hydroxymethylfurfural by propyl sulfonic acid functionalized magnetic graphene oxide nanocomposite

Summary: A solid acid catalyst with propyl sulfonic acid groups covalently immobilized on the surface of magnetic graphene oxide was reported for the efficient conversion of fructose to 5-HMF. The catalyst showed a high yield of 87% under optimized conditions, and exhibited stability and reusability for at least five cycles. The nanocomposite combined the advantages of high surface area from graphene oxide and fast separation by magnetic nanoparticles.

By incorporating thiols as metal chelating agents, the sorption behavior of these materials can be significantly improved. Various chemical modification strategies, such as mercaptans, xanthates and dithiocarbamates, are applicable for thiolation of chitosan and cellulose, leading to enhanced metal removal and detection capabilities.

Summary: A novel fluorescent probe GQDs-DPA was developed for the selective identification of Cu2+, V5+, and Fe3+ among 26 types of metal ions, showing high sensitivity and linear response in low concentration range. The microfluidic paper-based device (μPAD) fabricated in this study can selectively recognize the target ions by naked eye, providing a cost-effective and disposable solution for commercial applications in environmental science and technology.
