A new synthetic methodology for the preparation of 5-Substituted-3-Phenyl-2-Thioxoimidazolidin-4-Ones has been reported. It involves the use of various amino acids, phenylisothiocyanate, and sodium oxalate in water, with the reaction monitored by TLC. Ten compounds were synthesized, characterized, and screened for amylase inhibition activity, showing moderate to good activity comparable to the standard drug molecule.
A newer synthetic methodology of 5-Substituted-3-Phenyl-2-Thioxoimidazolidin-4-Ones has been reported using various amino acids, phenylisothiocyanate, and sodium oxalate in water, the reaction was monitored by chromatographic technique (TLC). Ten compounds were pre-pared, recrystallized, and characterized by sophisticated analytical methods such as( 1)H and C-13, NMR, IR, and Mass spectrometry. All the derivatives were screened fora amylase inhibition activity at different concentration level; the final result shows moderate to the good activity which is com-parable with the std drug molecule.
