A push-pull strategy for controlling the tea green leafhopper (Empoasca flavescens F.) using semiochemicals from Tagetes erecta and Flemingia macrophylla

Summary: The study tested a semiochemical-based 'push-pull' strategy for controlling the tea green leafhopper in Chinese tea plantations. The results showed that certain compounds released from Tagetes erecta and Flemingia macrophylla repelled and attracted the leafhoppers respectively. This push-pull strategy proved to be effective in reducing the leafhopper population in field trials.
