Digital light processing mediated 3D printing of biocomposite bone scaffolds: Physico-chemical interactions and in-vitro biocompatibility

Abhijit Vyas et al.

Summary: This study reports the development of customized bone scaffolds using digital light processing (DLP) technology. The physico-chemical interaction and mechanical properties of the composite bone scaffolds were investigated, and in-vitro cellular response was evaluated. The study demonstrates that the DLP technique can produce precise microarchitecture and interconnected porosity in the scaffolds.

Effect of Marble Waste Powder as a Binder Replacement on the Mechanical Resistance of Cement Mortars

Marco Lezzerini et al.

Summary: Quarrying and processing of marble have a negative impact on the environment, particularly the pollution of water bodies by marble waste. However, if managed according to environmental regulations, marble waste can be reused as a by-product, replacing cement in mortar production, although it may result in decreased mechanical properties.

Assessing the Swelling and Permeability Behavior of Novel Marble Dust-Bentonite with Sand-Bentonite Mixes for Use as a Landfill Liner Material

Ankush Kumar Jain et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the feasibility of using marble dust combined with bentonite as a landfill liner material. The results show that the performance of the marble dust-bentonite mixture is similar to that of the sand-bentonite mixture, indicating that marble dust can be used as an alternative material.

A hierarchically designed nanocomposite hydrogel with multisensory capabilities towards wearable devices for human-body motion and glucose concentration detection

Vivek Garg et al.

Summary: Hydrogels have great potential as flexible/wearable sensors, and the current study introduces a novel hybrid hydrogel nanocomposite for sensing human-body motion and glucose level in sweat using a nanostructured hierarchy approach. The nanocomposites exhibit high mechanical strength, toughness, and electrical conductivity, allowing for efficient detection of human-body motion and glucose level determination with exceptional sensitivity and minimal hysteresis. The facile synthesis method and low-cost fabrication of the hybrid hydrogel nanocomposites enable easy scalability of robust multifunctional sensors.
