Functional Characterization of TkSRPP Promoter in Response to Hormones and Wounding Stress in Transgenic Tobacco

Summary: Taraxacum kok-saghyz is a model species for studying natural rubber biosynthesis due to its ability to produce high-quality rubber in its root. The stress-related gene small rubber particle protein (SRPP) is involved in natural rubber biosynthesis. This study investigated the transcriptional regulation of the TkSRPP promoter by analyzing different lengths of promoter derivatives fused with the beta-glucuronidase (GUS) reporter gene in tobacco. The results showed that the TkSRPP promoter was not tissue-specific and responded strongly to hormones and injury induction. This study provides valuable information for understanding the regulation of SRPP promoter and its role in natural rubber biosynthesis under hormonal and wounding stress.

Genome-wide identification and expression profiling of DREB genes in Saccharum spontaneum

Summary: This study identified 12 DREB1 genes and 6 DREB2 genes in the genome of S. spontaneum, with all proteins containing a conserved AP2/ERF domain. Phylogenetic analysis suggested tandem duplication contributed to the expansion of DREB1-type genes in sugarcane. Expression profiling revealed that certain SsDREB genes were involved in both development and stress responses in S. spontaneum, highlighting the important role of DREBs in multiple aspects of plant physiology.
