Detecting preservation and reintroduction sites for endangered plant species using a two-step modeling and field approach

Summary: In order to successfully carry out (re)introduction plans, a two-step approach is proposed to identify appropriate sites. The first step involves modeling the niche and distribution of the species using bioclimatic and topographical predictors at continental and national scales. The second step refines these predictions by analyzing stationary ecological parameters, such as soil conditions, and relating them to population-level fitness values, thus ensuring successful (re)introductions.
