Low temperature synthesis of green submicro Cr-ZrSiO4 ceramic pigments by solid-state method

Qiuhong Yang et al.

Summary: In this study, a green submicro Cr-ZrSiO4 pigment was successfully synthesized using Li2CO3 as a mineralizer at low temperature. The mineralizer significantly promoted pigment formation and reduced synthesis temperature, resulting in uniform particle size and unique color properties for the pigment.

Synthesis of high color performance V-ZrSiO4 blue pigment with low doping amount via inorganic sol-gel route

Wenjie Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, a high color performance vanadium ion (V4+) doped ZrSiO4 blue pigment with low doping amount was successfully synthesized using an inorganic sol-gel route. The formation mechanism of the pigment was revealed based on phase evolution and color behavior analysis. XPS and XRF analysis confirmed the valence state of vanadium ion as 4+ and its heterogeneous distribution within the pigment particles. The prepared pigment exhibited superior coloring performance and high-temperature stability on ceramic glaze, suggesting its potential application in ceramic decoration.

Synthesis and mechanoluminescent properties of submicro-sized Y3Al5O12:Ce3+ particles

Jiazhi Li et al.

Summary: In this study, submicro-sized Y3Al5O12:Ce3+ particles were synthesized via a coprecipitation method and showed intense greenish-yellow mechanoluminescence under mechanical stimuli, displaying trap-dependent behavior. The distinct spectral characteristics between photoluminescence and mechanoluminescence suggested the generation of distorted Ce3+ sites under mechanical stimuli, revealing the mechanoluminescent mechanisms of the submicro-sized Y3Al5O12:Ce3+.
