Identifying absorbable bioactive constituents of Yupingfeng Powder acting on COVID-19 through integration of UPLC-Q/TOF-MS and network pharmacology analysis

Linyan Wang et al.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the active constituents of Yupingfeng Powder (YPF) and elucidate its potential mechanisms for the treatment of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). UPLC-Q/TOF-MS and LC-QQQ-MS were used to identify the components and absorbable constituents of YPF. Network pharmacology was employed to search for the targets of YPF's absorbable bioactive constituents and identify the key targets of COVID-19. The study found important constituents and targets for the treatment of COVID-19, as well as the metabolic reactions and functional pathways involved.

Integrated metabolomics and network pharmacology approach to reveal immunomodulatory mechanisms of Yupingfeng granules

Moying Li et al.

Summary: Systems biology is a method that combines Chinese herbal formula regulation with molecular-level analysis, and in this study, the immunomodulatory mechanisms of YPFG were investigated using metabolomics and network pharmacology methods. The study showed that YPFG's immunomodulatory effects may be related to lipid metabolism and bile acid metabolism, and flavonoid and saponin were identified as major active ingredients. These components may regulate abnormal bile acid metabolism by enhancing the expression of FXR and LXR alpha, providing a scientific basis for precise clinical medication.

PI3K/AKT/mTOR and TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB Signaling Inhibitors Attenuate Pathological Mechanisms of Allergic Asthma

Baowei Ma et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that targeting the imbalance of Th1/Th2 and Th17/Treg with signaling molecules like mTOR, PI3K, Akt, and MyD88 can control asthma attacks. Treatment of asthma patients with compounds such as ketamine, metformin, triciribine, LY294002, and torin2 can significantly reduce inflammation and symptoms.

Pharmacological Rationale for Targeting IL-17 in Asthma

Siti Farah Rahmawati et al.

Summary: IL-17 plays a significant role in asthma and its interaction with the Th2 pathway provides a rationale for therapeutic targeting of the IL-17 pathway. Experimental models suggest that targeting the IL-17 pathway may be beneficial in asthma. Moreover, increased activation of the Th17/IL-17 axis is correlated with reduced inhaled corticosteroids sensitivity, suggesting that targeting the IL-17 pathway might reverse ICS unresponsiveness.
