A new method for end-plugging in rotating plasmas is discovered, utilizing the ponderomotive potential of an azimuthal magnetostatic wiggler. Through analytical and numerical analysis, this approach is found to be favorable compared to other end-plugging methods in magnetized plasma devices with open field lines.
A new end-plugging method for rotating plasmas is identified and analyzed. It uses the ponderomotive potential associated with an azimuthal magnetostatic wiggler.
