Optical Properties of Inorganic Halide Perovskite Nanorods: Role of Anisotropy, Temperature, Pressure, and Nonlinearity

Shiyu Zhao et al.

Summary: The investigation of CsPbBr3 nanorods and cubic CsPbBr3 nanocrystals reveals the anisotropic properties of CsPbBr3 nanorods, with their photoluminescence intensity and radiative lifetime being sensitive to the polarization direction. Additionally, CsPbBr3 nanorods display two-photon fluorescence. These findings provide comprehensive insights into the optoelectronic properties of inorganic halide perovskite nanomaterials.

Influence of strain and dislocations on GaSb/GaAs quantum dots: From nested to staggered band alignment

B. C. McGuigan et al.

Summary: The influence of strain and dislocations on band alignment in GaSb/GaAs quantum dot systems is investigated. It is found that dislocation-induced strain relaxation and charging lead to significant local variations in band alignment, and misfit strain induces a transition from a nested (type I) to a staggered (type II) band alignment.

Stress effect on bandgap change of a semiconductor nanocrystal in an elastic matrix

Fuqian Yang

Summary: This work investigates the bandgap change of a spherical semiconductor nanoparticle in an elastic matrix using linear elasticity. The study focuses on two important ratios - the interface energy ratio between the nanoparticle-solution interface and the nanoparticle-matrix interface, and the elastic modulus ratio between the nanoparticle and the elastic matrix. The results show that the bandgap change depends on both ratios in the absence of external loading. Under hydrostatic strain or simple shear strain, the bandgap change decreases with increasing elastic modulus ratio of the nanoparticle to the elastic matrix. Additionally, the bandgap change is orientation-dependent under simple shear strain.
