Evaluating suggested stricter gamma criteria for linac-based patient-specific delivery QA in the conventional and SBRT environments

Robert A. Price et al.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the recommended tolerances for IMRT QA for conventional and SBRT delivery. The analysis was conducted on 150 IMRT/VMAT patients with varying gamma criteria. The results showed that the tolerances and action limits varied with different criteria and had low correlation with plan complexity and target size.

Prediction and classification of VMAT dosimetric accuracy using plan complexity and log-files analysis

Savino Cilla et al.

Summary: This study presents different machine learning models based on log files analysis and complexity indexes to predict and classify the dosimetric accuracy of VMAT plans. The results show that machine learning can accurately predict and classify the dosimetric accuracy, and serve as an efficient tool for patient-specific quality assurance.

Evaluating suggested stricter gamma criteria for linac-based patient-specific delivery QA in the conventional and SBRT environments

Robert A. Price Jr et al.

Summary: A study evaluated the AAPM TG-218 recommended tolerances for IMRT QA, finding that VMAT QA failure did not strongly correlate with plan complexity under stricter criteria, and SBRT QA results showed a low correlation with target size.

Comparison of pretreatment VMAT quality assurance with the integral quality monitor (IQM) and electronic portal imaging device (EPID)

Melissa Ghafarian et al.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the MLC error sensitivity of the IQM system and EPID in VMAT treatment, showing similar levels of agreement between measured and expected signals for both detectors. Additionally, the use of cumulative signal differences may be more beneficial for error detection in treatment delivery using EPID compared to gamma analysis.

Comparative performance analysis of 2D and 3D gamma metrics for patient specific QA in VMAT using Octavius 4D with 2D-Array 1500

Bipasha Pal et al.

Summary: The study found a significant increase in pass rates from 2D planar to 3D planar geometries, with a less pronounced difference from 3D planar to 3D volumetric. There was significant correlation between 2D planar and 3D planar, but not with most of the 3D volumetric pass rates. The benefits of shifting to higher dimensional measurement geometries are evident, but the advantages of using 3D volumetric compared to 3D planar are not always clear.
