New systematic study approach of green synthesis CdS thin film via Salvia dye

A. S. Najm et al.

Summary: This study aimed to increase the knowledge regarding the response mechanisms associated with the formation of CdS thin films. The Linker Assisted and Chemical Bath Deposition (LA-CBD) technique was presented as an efficient and novel hybrid sensitization technique for forming high quality CdS thin film. The CdS + MPA + Salvia dye films showed a homogeneous distribution of particles that were aspherical in shape. This technique significantly affected the electrical characterizations of CdS films after the annealing process.

Optoelectronic properties of Cl and F doped CdS thin films grown by chemical bath deposition

K. E. Nieto-Zepeda et al.

Summary: CdS:Cl and CdS:F thin films were grown on glass substrates at 70 degrees C by chemical bath deposition. NH4Cl and NH4F were used as chlorine and fluorine sources. The films exhibited cubic structures and the crystalline quality could be improved depending on the dopant type and concentration. Both Cl and F doping reduced the CdS bandgap and had noticeable effects on the optical properties. Electrical resistivity of the films was not substantially affected by the incorporation of Cl and F atoms.

The Role of Deposition Temperature in the Photovoltaic Properties of RF-Sputtered CdSe Thin Films

Hasrul Nisham Rosly et al.

Summary: Cadmium selenide (CdSe) thin films were grown on borosilicate glass substrates using the RF magnetron sputtering method. The influence of deposition temperature on the structural, morphological, and opto-electrical properties of CdSe films was investigated, with the film deposited at 300 degrees C showing potential as a window layer in solar cells. The study used X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, and Hall effect measurement to characterize the films.

T. Garmim et al.

Summary: In this study, (Ni, Mg) co-doped CdS thin films were synthesized using the spin coating method. The Mg incorporation caused an increase in grain size and changes in optical properties with increasing Mg concentration in Cd0.98Ni0.02S. The research also investigated optical parameters and changes in electrical resistivity and conductivity with varying Mg concentrations.

A systematic investigation on structural and optical properties of sol-gel spin coating fabricated CdS nanocrystalline thin films: effect of Ni doping

Brijlata Sharma et al.

Summary: Undoped and Ni-doped nanocrystalline CdS thin films were successfully fabricated using the sol-gel spin coating technique. The films exhibited polycrystalline structure with cubic orientation and an average crystallite size ranging from 6 to 12 nm. The optical band gap of the films was found to be in the range of 2.48-2.70 eV, indicating blue shifting in band edge due to quantum confinement effect. Additionally, the low temperature resistivity of the films decreased with increasing Ni concentration as observed from dc two probe measurements.

DFT study of the structural and optoelectronic properties of Cd1-xAgxS half metallic alloys

Mohamed Gandouzi et al.

Summary: This theoretical investigation focused on the structural, electronic, and optical properties of Cd1-xAgxS alloys with a wurtzite structure. It was found that increasing the silver composition in CdS matrix led to metallic behavior in majority-spin states and semiconductor behavior in minority-spin states, resulting in a half-metallic behavior. Optical absorption was also affected by the silver composition, shifting towards lower energy and increasing absorbance in the infrared region. The study suggests potential applications for Cd1-xAgxS alloys in novel optoelectronic devices and spintronics.
