One-step preparation of cobalt phosphate at room temperature for effective photocatalytic H2 evolution

Xing Liu et al.

Summary: Cobalt phosphate materials were prepared using different raw materials at room temperature, showing 3D flower-like structures with varying compactness depending on the raw materials used. The cobalt phosphates exhibited high photocatalytic activity for HER, with CoP(A) showing higher activity than CoP(B) due to its more dispersive nanosheet and larger BET-specific surface area. This work contributes towards the development of cost-efficient solar HER using abundant elements for sustainable development.

Modification of carbon nitride with noble-metal-free cobalt phosphide for effective photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Shaoqin Peng et al.

Summary: In this study, CoP/g-C3N4 composite photocatalysts were prepared and used for efficient photocatalytic H2 evolution reaction (HER) under visible light irradiation. The CoP(5 wt%)/g-C3N4 composite showed better HER performance compared to Pt(5 wt%)/g-C3N4, achieving a high apparent quantum yield (AQY) of 56.3% under 420 nm light. The high activity and stability of CoP(5 wt%)/g-C3N4 were attributed to efficient electron transfer and the excellent HER activity of CoP.

High-Quality Carbon Nitride Quantum Dots on Photoluminescence: Effect of Carbon Sources

Ping Zhao et al.

Summary: Graphitic carbon nitride quantum dots (CNQDs) exhibit extraordinary photoluminescent properties and high water solubility, with urea as the nitrogen source and citric acid and its salts as the carbon source in the synthesis process. Results show that CNQDs with different urea to carbon source ratios have varied fluorescence emission performance, and the CNQDs may serve as potential probes for detecting iron ion concentrations.
