Effect of viscosity and colloidal stability on the magnetic hyperthermia of petroleum-based nanofluids

Ivanei F. Pinheiro et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of variables such as viscosity, NP concentration, and colloidal stability on the effectiveness of magnetic hyperthermia. It was found that applying superparamagnetic nanoparticles in high viscosity liquids can significantly increase the system's temperature.

Synthesis of aluminium alkylbenzene sulfonate and its behavior as a flow improver for crude oil

Zhichao Zhou et al.

Summary: Low-molecular flow improvers are essential chemical agents in crude oil production. This study synthesized and evaluated three alkyl benzene sulfonates as flow improvers for crude oil. The results indicate that aluminum dodecylbenzene sulfonate has the best performance in reducing viscosity and lowering the freezing point of crude oil. Microphotographs confirm the improvement in crude oil flow after adding the flow improvers, while infrared spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry analysis reveal the interaction mechanism between the flow improvers and crude oil components.

Effect of metal oxide nanoparticles on wax formation, morphology, and rheological behavior in crude oil: An experimental study

Sajjad Vakili et al.

Summary: In this study, Fe2O3, ZnO, and MgO nanoparticles were synthesized and their effects on wax formation, morphological characteristics, and rheological behavior in crude oil were investigated. ZnO and MgO nanoparticles showed positive effects on wax appearance temperature, while Fe2O3 nanoparticles did not have significant efficiency in postponing wax appearance.
