Efficacy and safety of clopidogrel and/or aspirin for ischemic stroke/transient ischemic attack An overview of systematic reviews and meta-analysis

Youwen Yang et al.

Summary: This study compared the efficacy and safety of clopidogrel or aspirin - alone or in combination - in patients experiencing acute ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack through systematic reviews and meta-analyses. The results showed that clopidogrel plus aspirin was more effective than aspirin alone in reducing the risk for recurrent stroke with high-quality evidence, but dual treatment increased major bleeding events compared to aspirin.

Clinical Presentation and Stroke Incidence Differ by Moyamoya Etiology

John R. Gatti et al.

Summary: This study compared the clinical and radiographic characteristics of different subgroups of moyamoya arteriopathy patients, finding that neurofibromatosis-associated moyamoya syndrome has a milder phenotype while Down syndrome-associated moyamoya indicates a more aggressive course. These findings require confirmation in a larger, multi-center cohort with longer follow-up duration.
