Light-Controlled Tyrosine Nitration of Proteins

Tengfang Long et al.

Summary: A light-controlled strategy for protein tyrosine nitration using biocompatible dinitroimidazole reagents is reported in this study, allowing efficient conversion of tyrosine residues into 3-nitrotyrosine residues with fast kinetics and high chemoselectivity under neutral aqueous buffer conditions. The incorporation of 3-nitrotyrosine residues not only enhances the thermostability of proteins but also endows them with strong immunogenicity.
