High-order harmonics generation in nanosecond-pulses-induced plasma containing Ni-doped CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals using chirp-free and chirped femtosecond pulses

Srinivasa Rao Konda et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates high-order harmonic generation and analyzes the harmonic properties by ablating nickel-doped CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals using different types of pulses. The presence of nickel dopants and CsPbBr3 plasma components improves the emission of harmonics, and the spectral shift of harmonics generated from nickel-doped CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals can be used to form tunable extreme ultraviolet sources.

Non-linear thermo-optical properties of WS2 and Au/WS2 Schottky-type nano/hetero-junctions

Zhila Mahmudi et al.

Summary: Tungsten disulfide (WS2) nanoflakes were synthesized and anchored with Au nanostructures to form Au/WS2 Schottky-type nano/hetero-junctions. The optical properties of the samples showed a decrease in absorption rate and a red shift in specific peaks after Au anchoring. Furthermore, the Z-scan technique revealed a change in the nonlinear thermo-optical properties from self-focusing to self-defocusing modes in favor of Au/WS2 nanoflakes.

Transition from saturable absorption to reverse saturable absorption in multi-layered WS2 nanosheets

Srikanta Karmakar et al.

Summary: The Z-scan technique was used to investigate the nonlinear optical properties of multi-layered WS2 nanosheets. It was found that a transformation from saturable absorption (SA) to reverse saturation absorption (RSA) occurs in trilayer WNSs. Additionally, the transition from one photon absorption (1PA) to two-photon absorption (2PA) only happens in trilayer WNSs with the increase of laser intensity.

Preparation, modification and nonlinear optical properties of semiconducting MoS2 and MoS2/ZnO composite film

Hai-Quan Liu et al.

Summary: ZnO, MoS2, MoS2-time, and MoS2/ZnO composite films with excellent linear-nonlinear absorption properties were obtained by magnetron sputtering method. The MoS2 film morphology changed from granular to worm-like due to increasing sputtering power. Nonlinear absorption behavior of MoS2/ZnO composite film changed from saturated absorption to reverse saturated absorption as input energy of laser increased, with NLA coefficient 2-5 times higher than that of ZnO film. It suggests that MoS2 significantly enhances NLA characteristics of ZnO for potential use in optical limiting devices.
