Review on performance analysis of P3HT:PCBM-based bulk heterojunction organic solar cells

Ishan C. Ghosekar et al.

Summary: Organic solar cells (OSCs) show strong potential in future solar cell technology due to their low production costs, small weight, printability, solution processing, and ability to use flexible substrates. Major specifications for commercializing OSCs include long device lifespan, enhanced environmental stability, and high power conversion efficiency. Developing low energy gap organic polymers, transport materials, and multi-layer system architecture can increase PCE, but challenges remain in achieving environmental stability and longevity.

Summary: ITO/PEDOT:PSS/P3HT:PC60BM/Mg-Al organic solar cells were fabricated by optimizing P3HT and PC60BM. The study found that the optimal spin coating speed and annealing temperature were 3000 rpm and 160 degrees C, respectively. The prepared OSC showed promising performance parameters and potential for industrial applications.
