Ternary Transition Metal Dichalcogenides for High Power Vector Dissipative Soliton Ultrafast Fiber Laser

Lu Li et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the application of NbxRe(1-x)S2 nanosheets in ultrafast photonics. By incorporating the NbxRe(1-x)S2-microfiber saturable absorber into a net positive dispersion Er-doped fiber laser cavity, stable dissipative soliton pulses were generated. The NbxRe(1-x)S2-based mode-locked fiber laser demonstrated superior comprehensive performance compared to previous works based on 2D materials-based saturable absorbers.

Passively Q-switched 1.3 μm bismuth doped-fiber laser based on transition metal dichalcogenides saturable absorbers

Harith Ahmad et al.

Summary: In this work, Q-switched fiber laser has been demonstrated using tungsten ditelluride (WTe2) and tungsten disulfide (WS2) as saturable absorbers (SAs). The pulse width and repetition rate of the Q-switched pulses could be controlled by adjusting the pump power. The transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) materials have shown great potential in generating Q-switched pulses in BDFL operating at 1.3 μm region.

Tantalum disulfide nanosheets for the generation of polarization domain wall solitons and polarization locked vector solitons

Huiran Yang et al.

Summary: Tantalum disulfide (TaS2) is a promising material for catalysis and optical switch due to its tunable band gap and strong photoluminescence. In this study, we prepared a TaS2-based saturable absorber that exhibits strong saturable absorption characteristics and successfully realized polarization domain wall solitons and polarization locked vector solitons. Our findings provide valuable insights for the development of ultrafast photonic devices based on TaS2.

TaSe2 nanosheets for harmonic mode-locked fiber laser

Huiran Yang et al.

Summary: In this study, passively harmonic mode locking of an erbium-doped fiber laser using a TaSe2 nanosheets saturable absorber (SA) is demonstrated. The harmonic mode-locking operation is achieved by adjusting the polarization controller and power. The results confirm the potential of TaSe2 as an ideal photonic material.

Few-layer TaSe2 as a saturable absorber for passively Q-switched erbium-doped fiber lasers

Xiaojuan Liu et al.

Summary: TaSe2 nanosheets were prepared using ultrasound-assisted liquid phase exfoliation, and a TaSe2-based saturable absorber was fabricated for demonstrating a Q-switched erbium-doped fiber laser. The results show that TaSe2 is a competitive candidate for promoting stable and flexible ultrafast lasers, paving the way for photonics research and applications in the mid-infrared band.

XPM-Induced Vector Asymmetrical Soliton with Spectral Period Doubling in Mode-Locked Fiber Laser

Yudong Cui et al.

Summary: The study reports a novel soliton operation observed in a mode-locked fiber laser, where XPM induces and sustains the vector asymmetrical soliton with spectral period doubling. The XPM-induced VAS is characterized by an asymmetrical steady state distinct from other soliton forms, contributing to further research on optical nonlinear dynamics and chaos.
