Delivering interprofessional patient safety education using storytelling, a real-life medication error, and synchronous online platform

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of a synchronous virtual interprofessional education patient safety program using storytelling and interactive learning on student perceptions about patient safety. Results showed high levels of positive feedback from participants across all components of the program, indicating increased empathy, behavior change, and attitude changes among students.

Transformative learning experience among nursing students with patients acting as teachers: Mixed methods, non-randomized, single-arm study

Summary: This study aimed to examine the effects of expert HIV patients acting as teachers to Spanish nursing students on their HIV-related knowledge, attitudes and practices, as well as their approach to care model. The results showed that incorporating expert patients as teachers led to more patient-centered care and improved knowledge, attitudes, and practices. The workshops facilitated transformative learning experiences for the participants, enhancing both their professional and personal aspects.
