MiR-539-5p inhibits the inflammatory injury in septic H9c2 cells by regulating IRAK3

Xiaochen Hu et al.

Summary: MiR-539-5p is down-regulated in LPS-induced cells, and its over-expression inhibits inflammation response, enhances cell survival and proliferation, and suppresses apoptosis. IRAK3 is confirmed as a target of MiR-539-5p, and its over-expression partially weakens the effects of MiR-539-5p mimic on the inflammation response, proliferation, and apoptosis in LPS-induced cells.

Probiotic Clostridium butyricum ameliorated motor deficits in a mouse model of Parkinson's disease via gut microbiota-GLP-1 pathway

Jing Sun et al.

Summary: The study suggests that the probiotic Clostridium butyricum (Cb) has neuroprotective effects on Parkinson's disease (PD) by improving abnormal gut microbiota-gut-brain axis. This intervention could potentially reverse motor deficits, dopaminergic neuron loss, synaptic dysfunction, and microglia activation in PD, providing a new insight into treating PD through gut microbiota modulation.

SARS-CoV-2/ACE2 Interaction Suppresses IRAK-M Expression and Promotes Pro-Inflammatory Cytokine Production in Macrophages

Ioanna Pantazi et al.

Summary: The major cause of death in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients is deregulation of the innate immune system and development of cytokine storm. SARS-CoV-2 S protein can induce pro-inflammatory cytokine production in macrophages, potentially exacerbating inflammatory responses.
