Spatially Restricted Templated Growth of Poly(ε-caprolactone) from Carbon Nanotubes by Crystallization-Driven Self-Assembly

Zaizai Tong et al.

Summary: The design of hybrid hierarchical architectures remains challenging, but the use of crystallization-driven selfassembly methods can help in constructing brushlike structures with controlled shape and size on carbon nanotubes. By anchoring seeds through hydrogen bonding and using in situ CDSA process with added monomers, brushlike heterostructures containing both CNTs and CDSA nanoassemblies were fabricated. The shape of the crystals changed from platelets to long and thin crystals with increasing mass ratios of seed micelles to CNTs.
